Friday the 20th was my last day at work. Today I packed the truck and left the house I was leasing for the last time.
Jobless and Homeless. It hasn’t sunk in yet. I was expecting more of…something. Excitement? Fear? Instead I’m irritated.
I’m driving to woodland hills in Los Angeles from the Central Valley, a five hour drive that hasn’t gone well: I lost two boxes. They obviously weren’t tied down well enough.
Right now I’m sitting in a restaurant at the base of the grapevine trying to remember what those two boxes had in them. Ugh. I went back to where they were lost, but it was impossible to find much. Dodging cars on I-5 was too dangerous.
Not a great start to a Trip Of A Lifetime.
14 days and counting.
I think you should change your title to “Free”. You can replace what you lost, your adventure awaits!!

It was just a practice in letting go, something you will undoubtedly will have to do while hiking the PCT. 🙂
