Waterfalls, animals, & more

My first full day in Grand Tetons and I tried to fit a lot in. It started with a moderate hike. (6 miles, 800ft elevation gain) I picked Inspiration Point above Jenny Lake, with a side trip to Hidden Falls.

It was a clear, warm day that was perfect for hiking. I putzed around and didn’t get to the trail head until 9am. It was almost full. Sure enough, it being Saturday the trail was full.

It’s spring and the animals are out and about. I saw several bears, including a mom and her two cubs. They were in heavy trees, but I caught this one by himself.

The trail was very nice and I took the side trail to Hidden Falls. A very nice large waterfall.

Hidden Falls and me

The route past that was steep but worth it. Inspiration Point has a commanding view of Jenny Lake, and the clear skies looked amazing.

After the hike I wanted a burger in Jackson. On the way there was a group of people taking pictures on the side of the road. I stopped and saw what I believe is a fox out hunting. (The ears and bushy tale leads to that conclusion)

Fox?

It was 200-300 ft away and I’m at the limit of my iPhone camera.

Another animal fact: Elk shed their antlers every fall. what does one do with thousands of antlers? Art!

Arches!
